Send SMS via web and API with the lowest fares and custom sender ID

Written by Emilio Alfredo Lodigiani. Posted in Internet providers, Programming

After a fairly long search, I discovered a very interesting SMS provider, with the lowest fares and a very customizable service: the Australian company Sms Global. This is, in my opinion, the best choice on the market at the moment, surely but not only for my purposes (sending SMS from web applications to Italy). The service offered by Sms Global can be subscribed for free at this page. The user then can buy SMS credits with no lower limits. The pro’s of Sms Global’s service are:
  • No lower limits to credit purchase. The user can buy as few as 1 cent credit. Normally you would buy a few dollars or euros just to test the service.
  • Sender ID fully customizable. You can send the SMS message from any sender with 11 alphanumeric characters, or 16 numeric characters.
  • Lots of API to manage SMS sending from your application. Main API page here.
  • Zend Framework library. The right Zend Framework library can be downloaded here.
  • Real-time outgoing SMS report with status codes.
  • Email to SMS feature.
I suggest everyone interested to give a try to the service with a free Sms Global account!
